We woke this morning to a beautiful view and an overcast sky. Before booking this trip, we were aware that, over the course of a day we’d experience all the weathers. The photos below are evidence of this. We came prepared with rain gear and quick-dry clothing because we don’t want weather to keep us indoors.
Our goal today was to make another attempt at getting groceries. Sounds easy enough, right? Our biggest stumbling block is trying to find cream for our coffee. We spent a good long time trying to decipher the labels. (Google Translate would not load.) Eventually we asked a local woman, who tried valiantly to help us. She ended up shrugging and saying, “We don’t put cream in our coffee.” This fact had already become evident over the past couple of days when we ordered coffee with cream and sugar. A pleasant side-eye was the usual response, with various results.
Our lunch at O Cinco was perfect. This busy little restaurant is highly recommended.
While strolling along the harbour, we noticed a large group of men watching a crane hoist a massive, gutted pig into the air, dunk it into the water, and then place it gently on the back of a truck. They seemed to be rinsing it off. While travelling, it’s possible to see things you’ve never imagined.
Tip of the Day:
When making plans to travel, find out how the locals drink their coffee. Begin to drink yours that way immediately. Don’t be the weirdos in the grocery store looking for a product that does not exist!
