It was another very rainy start to the day, but the sun showed up in the afternoon.

We went for a waterfront walk, collected some more beach glass and came across a couple of small Portuguese Man-of-Wars. These little creatures are beautiful but they pack a punch even when dead on the beach apparently.

Tip of the Day:

Although we can walk into town for supplies, we’re very happy we decided to rent a car. It’s the only reasonable way to see the nooks and cranny’s that exist all over the island, off the main roads. We booked our car through Egidio at Life Wellness Azores and the price is reasonable. At this time of year, there are lots of cars available, which means we ended up with an upgrade into the SUV we’re enjoying, instead of a compact car.
