As we headed out this morning, we were greeted by Maria and Dina (our hosts) with the gift of a bottle of white wine made with grapes grown in the family vineyard. The owners of this place are spectacularly gracious and kind. We have been spoiled with wine, fresh bananas and oranges.
Off to Sao Mateus for some exploring. We really like Sao Mateus. We hiked along the shoreline for an hour or so, stopped for a galao. On our way out of the cafe, we bumped into Norberto Maciel and had a quick chat. (small island!) Later in the day, we stopped for lunch at a small cafe, which was filled with some locals who appeared to be in some lighthearted debate, which became more lively as the wine carafe became more empty. Portuguese is a beautiful language to listen to. Sue is getting better at some of the key words as we travel.
Tip of the Day: See previous post. We only dole out one tip per day.
